The Works Festival was a quality arts festival with 29 events occurring over 9 days. Professional artists and community members worked together in the fields of visual art, video, animation, film, music and performance.
The festival brought together people of all ages, backgrounds and locations within the municipality to participate in events celebrating the city's cultural diversity.
It was jointly produced by Glenorchy City Council and Kickstart Arts Incorporated, and funded by: Arts Tasmania, Screen Tasmania, the Theatre Board and Community Cultural Development Board of the Australia Council, Festivals Australia, Multicultural Tasmania, Glenorchy City Council, the Department of Education, the Peace Coalition and the Community Support Levy.
