Client summary
From 23 April 2007, the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’) will be amended to:
- allow non-citizens who apply for a subclass 471 (Trade Skills Training) visa on Form 1261 while in Australia also to make an application for a Bridging visa E on the same form and at the same time
- change references to ‘New Apprenticeship Scheme’ to its correct name ‘New Apprenticeships Scheme’, in line with the terminology in Skilling Australia's Workforce Act 2005.

Transitional arrangements: The amendments apply in relation to an application for a visa made on or after 23 April 2007.
