Changes to the Australian Citizenship Regulations 1960:
Regulations 3, 7 - 7D, 7F - 7G, 8A - 8C, 22 and Schedule 2.
Additional information: Previously, the Australian Citizenship Regulations 1960 prescribed a detailed process by which a person may be registered as an Australian citizen by descent under the Australian Citizenship Act 1948. This process required that a person's name be manually entered into a bound 'register', being a physical volume of forms kept at an Australian consulate. The regulations have been amended to allow for electronic registration of persons who have acquired Australian citizenship by descent. Various other technical amendments have also been made.

Effect on systems: DIMIA A-based posts will be able to use ICSE instead of a paper register to register citizenship by descent applications.
