From 1 July 2003, immigration law has been amended to reflect the new visa application charges, which have been increased in line with the annual indexation of fees process.
Technical details
Additional information: Indexation of DIMIA's fees and charges occurs on 1 July each year. Authority for the annual indexation of fees and charges is provided by the Migration (Visa Application) Charge Act 1997, which prescribes the manner in which the charge value is to be set.
Transitional arrangements: The amendments apply to applications for a visa made on or after 1 July 2003.
Forms: Form 990i has been update to reflect these changes, and will be effective from 1 July 2003.
Instructions: These fees will be updated on Form 990i, and included in the Foreign Currency Equivalent Gazette due to take effect 1 July 2003.
Effect on delegations: Nil
Effect on systems: ICSE and IRIS have been amended to reflect the legislative amendments with effect from 1 July 2003.
