Ceasing Visa Evidencing Services to Migration Agents

In November 2009, the department announced a number of service strategies as part of its implementation of label-free.

One of these changes has a direct impact on Migration Agents. As such, the department sought and gained the support of both the Migration Institute of Australia and the Migration Alliance; to not only endorse this service strategy, but also to work with their respective memberships to advise them of these changes.

From Monday 19 April 2010 the department will no longer be providing Visa Evidencing Services to Migration Agents.

Clients are instead being told to access their visa details online using Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO). This also supports the work of Migration Agents as it provides greater detail about a visa holder’s current visa than a visa label can.

VEVO is a free, online facility that enables your clients to check their current visa details. VEVO enables them, employers and some agencies to confirm visa details without a visa label being placed in their passport.
