Reaching out to industry

The department is working in partnership with industry to help employers better understand how to use immigration's services to address skilled labour shortages. Industry Outreach Officers currently work with 25 Industry groups, on full time and part time placements.

The Industry Outreach Officers give expert support to employers who want to employ skilled overseas workers. They provide information about visa options, immigration mechanisms, e-lodgement and how to use the Skill Matching Database.
