Online applications can be made using a computer with an Internet connection.

Start an application

You are encouraged to complete your application with as much information as possible at time of lodgement. Applications with missing information may take longer to finalise.
Note: Applicants must hold an eligible passport to apply online. It is strongly recommended that this passport be valid for at least six months.

When lodging your second Working Holiday visa application please use the attachment facility at the end of the online application to attach your Form 1263 – Employment Verification. This will expedite the processing of your application.

Work and Holiday (subclass 462) Outside Australia For applicants from the United States aged 18 to 30 years of age, who are interested in a working holiday of up to 12 months in Australia.

Applicants must hold a valid USA passport to apply online.

Extending the work limitation In Australia The department may give Working Holiday (subclass 417) and Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa holders permission to work for an employer beyond six months where exceptional circumstances exist. Where permission is granted, it will generally be for a short period of time (less than one month). Working Holiday and Work and Holiday visa label requirements

If you are granted an online Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) or Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) you will be sent a notification of the grant of your visa via your nominated postal or email address.
Note: Please keep this notification as it describes the conditions that apply to your visa.

Your visa is linked electronically to the passport details provided in your visa application. You can view your visa online using Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO). VEVO is a free online service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows you, and your employer or education provider, to view your visa details online.

You do not require a visa label in your passport unless advised by the department in your visa grant notification letter. If necessary, you can arrange to have a visa label placed in your passport at any departmental office in Australia.
