Start an application

You are encouraged to complete your application with as much information as possible at the time of lodgement. Applications with missing information may take longer to finalise.

Important: We strongly recommend that clients hold a passport valid for at least six months. A tourist visa can usually be granted only to a client with a valid passport.

In Australia

If you are in Australia and want to apply online to extend your stay for tourism purposes you will be required to meet all of the following:

  • hold a valid ETA (Visitor) (subclass 976), an eVisitor (subclass 651), Tourist visa (subclass 676), or a paper lodged tourist visa granted for a stay of three months or less
  • not have condition 8503 'No further stay' imposed on your current visa or have been granted an 8503 waiver
  • not intend to stay more than six months from the date you last entered Australia
  • meet all the eligibility criteria for this visa.

Australian visa label requirements

If you are granted an online Tourist visa (e676) you do not need a visa label in your passport. Instead, you will be sent notification of the grant of your visa via your nominated postal or email address. Please keep this notification as it describes the conditions that apply to your visa.
