Visa Information and Lodgement

Lodging a visa application

At an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC)

The department has an agreement with IOM Vietnam to provide Australian visa lodgement services in Vietnam through AVACs. The AVACs accept applications for Australian visas.
Exception: Visa applications related to official government travel and applications for citizenship and registration of Australian citizenship by descent.

The AVACs charge applicants a service fee in addition to any visa application charge.

Further information on the AVACs and their services and charges is available from the International Organization For Migration website.
See: International Organization For Migration

By post

Please ensure you have enclosed a pre-paid return envelope clearly stating your return address and evidence that the appropriate visa charges have been paid.

At the Australian Consulate-General in person

If you wish to lodge an application in person at the Australian Consulate-General you must make an appointment. Appointments can be made by phoning or emailing the department's visa office at the Australian Consulate-General.

Note: Due to the high demand for appointments, it may be a few weeks before an appointment can be scheduled. However, you can lodge your application at the AVAC during business hours without an appointment.
