Lodging a visa application

At the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC)

The department has an agreement with VFS to provide Australian visa lodgement services in Indonesia through the AVAC. The AVAC accepts applications for Australian visas.
Exception: Australian Citizenship and Australian Declaratory Visa applicants.

Clients can lodge their applications in person at the AVAC in Jakarta or Bali. A service charge will be levied per passport.

By post or courier to the Australian Embassy

Please ensure you have enclosed appropriate visa charges and a pre–paid return envelope clearly stating your return delivery address.

At the Australian Embassy in person

To lodge in person at the Embassy you will need to make an appointment, however, you can lodge your application at the AVAC during their business hours without an appointment.

Permanent entry visas

Permanent entry visa applications are lodged and processed in Indonesia.

Declaratory visa applications are lodged and processed in Indonesia.

General skilled migration applications are lodged and processed at the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre.

Business Skills applications are lodged and processed at the Perth Business Skills Processing Centre.

Contributory parent and parent migration applications are lodged and processed at the Perth Offshore Parents Centre.

Temporary entry visas

Temporary entry visa applications, including Visitor, Transit and 1st Working Holiday applications from Jakarta are lodged and processed in Indonesia.

416 Special Program applications are lodged and processed at the Hobart Special Program Processing Centre.

679 Sponsored Family Visitor visa applications must be lodged by the sponsor at a State or Territory office within Australia.

If you are sponsored by an Australian employer, you must lodge your visa application at the same office in Australia where your employer lodged papers to support your application. Please ask your employer which office they lodged these papers at.

Australian citizenship

All Australian citizenship applications are lodged and processed in Indonesia.
