Lodging a visa application

At the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC)

The Immigration Section in Indonesia has an arrangement with VFS Global to receive visa applications at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).

The Australian Visa Application Centre charges a fee with each application lodged.

By post or courier to the Immigration Section

Please ensure you have enclosed appropriate fee for the visa charge (or evidence that the fee has been paid) and a pre–paid return envelope clearly stating your return delivery address.

At the Immigration Section in person

To lodge in person at the Immigration Section, you must make an appointment by calling the enquiry line. However, you can lodge your application at the AVAC during their business hours without an appointment.

Permanent entry visas

The permanent entry categories of general skilled, business skills and parent subclasses are lodged and processed in Australia, and all enquiries should be directed to the relevant processing centre. All other permanent applications may be lodged in Jakarta or Bali.

General skilled migration applications are lodged and processed at the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centres.

Contributory parent and parent migration applications are lodged and processed at the Parent Visa Centre.

Temporary entry visas

Temporary entry visa applications, including Visitor, Transit and 1st Working Holiday applications and Work and Holiday from Jakarta are lodged and processed in Indonesia.

416 Special Program applications are lodged and processed at the Hobart Special Program Processing Centre.

420 Entertainment sponsorship and visa applications are lodged and processed at the Sydney Entertainment Processing Centre.

679 Sponsored Family Visitor visa applications must be lodged by the sponsor at a State or Territory office within Australia.

If you are sponsored by an Australian employer for a Subclass 457 Business (Long Stay) visa, you may lodge your visa application online or at an Australia office of the department. If you are sponsored by an overseas business, you can lodge your visa application with the Australia Immigration Office responsible for applications in your country.

Online Applications

If you are sponsored by an Australian employer, you must lodge your visa application at the same office in Australia where your employer lodged papers to support your application. Please ask your employer which office they lodged these papers at.
