Visa Information


Permanent Entry visas

Permanent entry visa applications (for exceptions see below) from Germany, Croatia, Estonia, The Netherlands, Denmark, Faeroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Italy (including San Marino and Vatican City), Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Malta, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco and Portugal are lodged, processed and decided in Berlin.

Citizens of Croatia and Hungary may lodge applications in Zagreb and Budapest respectively and the applications will be sent to Berlin for processing and decision.

Visa applications from Polish citizens and residents of Poland are to be lodged in Berlin.

General skilled migration applications are lodged and processed at the Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre.

Contributory parent and parent migration applications are lodged and processed at the Parent Visa Centre.

Temporary Entry visas

Citizens of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, (including Vatican City and San Marino), Malta, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland who are travelling to Australia for up to three (3) months for tourism or business purposes are eligible to apply online for eVisitors.

Citizens of Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City are also able to apply for an ETA at travel agents and airlines.

Passport holders from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City who want to visit Australia for more than three (3) months are eligible to apply online for a Tourist visa (e676).

Paper temporary entry visa applications from Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, San Marino, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City are lodged, processed and decided in Berlin.

Paper temporary entry applications from Croatia and Hungary are lodged, processed and decided in Zagreb and Budapest,  respectively. Paper temporary visa applications from Andorra, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Monaco (excluding subclass 457 and student applications) are lodged, processed and decided at the Australian Embassy, Paris.

If you are sponsored by an Australian employer for a Subclass 457 Business (Long Stay) visa, you may lodge your visa application online or at an Australia office of the department. If you are sponsored by an overseas business, you can lodge your visa application with the Australia Immigration Office responsible for applications in your country.

Online Applications

If you are sponsored by an Australian employer, you must lodge your visa application at the same office in Australia where your employer lodged papers to support your application. Please ask your employer where they lodged these papers.

Citizenship

Citizenship applications for conferral, resumption or renunciation are processed in Berlin.

Special procedures

Citizens of Germany, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark are eligible to apply for a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417). Citizens wishing to apply for a Working Holiday visa should apply online.
