  • have already withdrawn this application or have been granted or refused a Spouse or Partner (Permanent) visa (subclasses 100, 110, 801 or 814)
  • have already returned your Two Year documents for permanent visa assessment to an office of the department.

Partner (Permanent) visa processing not yet due

Shortly before you are eligible to be assessed for a Partner (permanent) visa (usually two years after application lodgement), you will receive a letter from the department asking you to provide information relating to your application.

Important: If you send your information and document more than two months before your eligibility date, we will return them to you and ask you to obtain updated documents closer to your eligibility date.

It is vital that you advise the department of any changes in your circumstances, including any change of address or contact details. Failure to advise of changes can lead to refusal of your permanent visa and the ceasing of your partner (temporary) visa.

To advise of a change of your details or circumstances please either telephone the department or complete and provide to us Form 929 – Change of address and/or passport details .

How to apply for your Permanent Partner Visa

You can apply using the online form or you can download forms below and lodge by post. Please read the following documents to assist in applying for a permanent Partner visa.

Lodge your information online

In order for us to proceed with your application, you can create or log in to your ImmiAccount and complete the Partner visa application - information for permanent stage processing (online form).

To complete this form you will need your Transaction Reference Number or your application ID from your initial partner application.

You will need to upload the following information in your ImmiAccount.

Change of address, name or passport details

If you have changed address, name or passport details, you must notify us by calling the department or by completing Form 929 Change of address and/or passport details and posting it to the relevant Partner (Permanent) Processing Centre.

Withdrawing your application

You can withdraw your application at any stage during processing. If you wish to withdraw your application, you must advise the department in writing from an authorised email address or by post. If you withdraw your application it is completely finished and you will need to lodge a new application if you want to obtain a visa.
Note: You cannot seek review in respect of a withdrawn application.
