Continuation of IELTS waiver arrangements for Schools Sector applicants

IELTS waiver provisions for Schools sector visa applicants from the People's Republic of China (PRC) which have been in place since April 2004 are ongoing after 1 April 2007.

The existing arrangements for secondary school students accessing the waiver will continue to apply until further notice.

The department will be writing to Schools sector education providers to seek information from them about additional nominated agents they wish to use in the next year of the waiver provisions. In the interim, providers may continue to use the agents they have previously nominated. Agents' eligibility for continued 'waiver ready' status will be determined according to the same benchmarks as in previous years.
