Yellow Fever

Yellow fever is viral disease of short duration that is transmitted by mosquitoes.

Travellers to Australia must hold an international vaccination certificate before travelling to Australia if they:

  • are one year of age or older; and
  • have stayed overnight or longer in a declared yellow fever infected country within the six days prior to their arrival in Australia.

A fact sheet on yellow fever is available from the Department of Health and Ageing.
