Addendum to Form 1130 Booklet 4 - Other Family Migration

This addendum is effective from 1 January 2008 as the Migration Regulations 1994 (the Regulations) were amended to remove the requirement for applicants for Carer visas (subclasses 116 and 836) to have an Assurance of Support.
Carer visa applications finalised before 1 January 2008 are not affected by the changes to the Regulations.
Page 4, paragraph 5, under heading Carer
Delete: An Assurance of Support is also required (see page 5).
Page 5, paragraph 1, under heading When is an Assurance of Support required?
Replace: All applicants applying for migration in the other family categories (aged dependent relative, remaining relative or carer) require an Assurance of Support.
With: Applicants for aged dependent relative visas and remaining relative visas require an Assurance of Support.
