Review of Decisions

All fees and charges are in Australian dollars (AUD).

The following table lists the application charges for appeal against certain Migration Act decisions.

Type of Review Charge
Migration Review Tribunal (MRT)
Charges may be waived in cases of severe financial hardship of the review applicant.
Charge will be refunded if:
  • the decision is favourable, or
  • the review application was invalid.

Medical review charge - MRT
Additional charge at review stage for another opinion by a Medical Officer of the Commonwealth 		$520
Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT) No charge
RRT Post-decision fee
Charge is payable by unsuccessful RRT review applicants.
Charge will be refunded if:
  • a Protection visa is later granted, or
  • the Minister intervenes under s.417 of the Migration Act.

Charge will be refunded if:
  • the decision is favourable, or
