Performance information for administered items

2.1.1 Settlement plans
Quality: Satisfaction of Ministerial Council and stakeholders.

Quantity: Annual report to Ministerial Council covering State/Territory Settlement Planning Committees.
  • In April 2001, the Ministerial Council endorsed the Annual Report on State and Territory Settlement Planning Committees' progress towards addressing national and local settlement priorities and the National Settlement Project.
2.1.2 Direct services
Quality: The extent to which outcomes for humanitarian entrants specified in service contracts are met within service standards.

Quantity: Up to 7,000 humanitarian entrants assisted.
  • 4,800 humanitarian entrants were assisted by the National Forum of Services for the Survivors of Torture and Trauma under the Early Health Assessment and Intervention (EHAI) program at a cost of $2.5 million.

  • $2.5 million to 26 community organisations for grants and to 22 Migrant Resource Centres for employing humanitarian workers to provide interim services to humanitarian entrants pending implementation of IHSS services in those States where contract negotiations were not yet finalised.

  • just over 4,900 eligible humanitarian entrants received IHSS services which included accommodation, household formation, volunteer support and information and orientation at a cost of $6.3 million.

  • 2,240 of the 4,900 eligible humanitarian entrants received settlement support from volunteers.

  • some humanitarian entrants proposed by relatives and community organisations were also provided with IHSS services.

  • 41 contracts were signed to the end of June 2001 to provide IHSS services.

  • Quality: Service agreement and work programs fulfilled and/or specific breaches addressed.

2.1.3 Support for community services
Quality: Service agreement and work programs fulfilled and/or specific breaches addressed

Quantity
: 34 Migrant Resource Centre/Migrant Service Agency grants and 323 funded work programs administered.
  • There have been no breaches of service agreements requiring formal dispute resolution. In 16 instances performance management focused on unsatisfactory delivery of milestones and other related issues.

  • Service agreements and work programs administered for 323 Community Settlement Services Scheme grants, 30 MRCs and four MSAs.
2.1.4 AMEP Administration
Quality: Fulfillment of contract requirements or breaches addressed.

Quantity: 21 tuition contracts administered.
  • All Service Providers met contract requirements for the delivery of English tuition and associated services and no breaches were notified. All contracts received ongoing accreditation from the National English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) in relation to quality standards.

  • 21 contracts for AMEP tuition and associated services administered. Contract management meetings held at least three times per year.
