Access and Equity Annual Report 2004
The Access and Equity Annual Report reports on progress in implementing the Charter of Public Service in a Culturally Diverse Society (the Charter).
The Charter represents a nationally-consistent approach to ensuring that government services are delivered in a way that is sensitive to the language and cultural needs of all Australians.
This is the fourth year that Australian government departments and agencies have been asked to report against the Charter's Performance Management Framework.
In 2004, 63 of the 64 agencies reporting met all of the indicators applicable to them. This represents an improvement from 2003, where 53 of 58 agencies reporting met all applicable indicators. In continuing to extend the scope and transparency of reporting, nine new agencies provided contributions for the first time.
