Access and Equity in Government Services Report
2008–10

The Access and Equity Report is divided into four parts.

  • Part one provides background to the Access and Equity Strategy and Framework.
  • Part two covers the four principles and performance indicators from the Access and Equity Framework. A number of key examples of good practice, that reflect the strategies for delivery of the principle, have been included.
  • Part three includes a summary of the annual community consultations facilitated by the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA).
  • Part four outlines the future direction of the Access and Equity Strategy and Framework. The People of Australia, Australia’s Multicultural Policy, launched in February 2011, includes several recommendations to strengthen access and equity to ensure that government programs and services are even more responsive.

The report features good practice examples of how government agencies are responding to the needs of Australia’s multicultural society and includes case studies of migrants who have participated in government programs designed to assist them to settle in Australia.
