List of file titles the Immigration and Citizenship portfolio

Covering statement

The attached list represents the titles of relevant files created in the portfolio between 1 July and 31 December 2007, excluding:

1. files transferred to the National Archives of Australia;
2. case related files, for example, personal representations or those dealing with the personal affairs of departmental clients or taxpayers;
3. files essentially related to the internal administration of the department, for example, staff or personnel files including individuals engaged as consultants;
4. files with national security classification of ‘Secret’ or higher; and
5. file titles from which it is apparent that particular matters have been, or are to be, considered by Cabinet as well as those titles which would disclose its deliberations and decisions. This accords with longstanding principles about the deliberations of Cabinet.

Format

The hard copy list (attached) shows the file number with a record type prefix and file title.  The record types are:

• ADF – Administration File
• OPF – Operational File
• PCF – Policy Central Office File

Conventions and interpretations

Staff files and those obviously related to internal administration of the department have been excluded.

There may be some apparent spelling mistakes, however this is how the files are registered on the computer system.
