For greater service delivery, this role is split between two geographic lines due to increased management work associated with irregular maritime arrivals (IMA). The main objective is to help clients to resolve their migration status, and achieve a durable immigration outcome.

Works to ensure that the digital channel strategy delivers the department's capability to be globally flexible, responsive and adaptive to client and stakeholder requirements whilst upholding integrity.

Refugees and Humanitarian Visas

Leads a key network for all refugee and humanitarian service delivery. This role is responsible for all refugee status assessment, primary decision processing for irregular maritime arrivals, all protection visa service delivery through the Onshore Protection Program Lodgement and processing of all humanitarian proposals under the Special Humanitarian Program (Africa and the Middle East) and pre-removal clearances and international treaty obligations assessments for irregular maritime arrival/non-irregular maritime arrival clients on a removal pathway.

Visas (Skilled and Family)

Overall responsibility for the day–today operations of the skilled and family programs and have global carriage for the achievement of the migration program.

Visas (Temporary)

Accountable for the delivery of all temporary visas, (other than subclass 457). The key priorities are to facilitate genuine travellers, supporting Australian industries and ensuring the integrity of the program.
