Career Opportunities for Interpreters

TIS National is currently recruiting interpreters to meet the ongoing growth in demand for interpreting services. Successful applicants are added to a panel of service providers who are paid based on the number of assignments they accept. Ninety-four per cent of the interpreting services we provide are by telephone.

TIS National welcomes enquiries from Australian permanent residents and citizens who are interested in becoming interpreters.

We are interested in recruiting people who have been accredited as interpreters at the professional level by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in the following languages:

Arabic

Mandarin

We are interested in recruiting people who have been accredited as interpreters at any level by NAATI in the following languages:

Dari	Dinka	Hazaragi
Italian	Karen	Khmer
Persian	Russian	Somali
Spanish	Tamil	Thai

We would also like to speak with individuals who have an interest in working as interpreters who have good language skills in English and one or more of the following languages. We encourage those recruited to seek NAATI accreditation where it is available, and recognition where it is not currently available:

Kirundi

Kurdish (all dialects)

Rohingyan

TIS National strives to continuously improve the quality of our service. We are therefore interested in recruiting interpreters who have achieved accreditation as professional interpreters by NAATI wherever possible. We are interested in hearing from interpreters accredited at the professional level in all languages.
