Stage one – application (Closes 4 April 2011)
Applications for the 2012 Generalist Graduate Development Program open online
from Tuesday, 1 March 2011, and will close 11.30 pm AEST Monday
4 April 2011.

Note: Late applications will not be accepted.
The department will assess the information provided in your application including academic results (Bachelor degree minimum), and your claims against the selection criteria.
Responses to each criterion will be assessed and short-listed applicants will successfully progress to stage two.
Stage two – online assessment
Applicants will undertake a 20 minute online assessment which is designed to measure analytical skills, natural verbal intelligence and numerical reasoning. It assesses applicants' strengths and provides an indication of how they are likely to perform in the job role. Short–listed applicants will successfully progress to stage three.
Stage three – interview
A behavioural based interview will be conducted by a panel.
- The interview should take no longer than 40 minutes. The interview will have a behavioural focus, that is, it will explore capabilities demonstrated in the past.
- Applicants will need to bring to the interview a certified copy of their academic transcript, evidence of Australian citizenship and two passport photographs.
- Applicants who are overseas or in a regional area of Australia will be offered a telephone interview.
Stage four - offer
Successful applicants will:
- receive a telephone call, followed by formal employment commencement documentation
- the department will provide a Relocation Assistance subject to individual circumstance.
- commence employment with the department in early February 2012.
