Living in Canberra
With both the snowy mountains and the sandy beaches of the south coast just over 2 hours drive, Canberra truly is Australia’s capital city. Not only does it offer the lifestyle of any other big city, it also gives the unique feel of country living not found in any other city of Australia. With traffic jams that last between 15 and 20 minutes and a range of temperature from 12 degrees in winter to a sunny 27 degrees in summer Canberra really does have it all.
The social scene
Canberra is a buzzing city full of cafes, restaurants, shopping hot spots, theaters and clubs with live music. Along with this Canberra has open parks, great sports facilities, including the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), and amazing cultural attractions.
Canberra has its own Social Network of Graduates (SnoG), set-up over 10 years ago, with the hope of connecting graduates in the public sector. It is designed for graduates moving to Canberra to help them settle in and meet new people. Best of all SNoG is run by graduates for graduates, providing something for every personality.
