Pictures tell a thousand words. Photographs are one of the most important historical documents the department has to tell the story of Australian immigration. While they are important in marking particular occasions or events, they also often capture in one still frame an expression or gesture that words often can't.
The following collection of images provide a pictorial view of the work of the department following the Second World War.
