Transaction Reference Number
A Transaction Reference Number (TRN) is a unique number assigned to each online application. You will need this to:
- identify your application when you communicate with us
- check your visa entitlements.
Start an application
To start an online application you will need to login to your ImmiAccount. If you do not have an account you will prompted to create one.
You should complete your application with as much information as possible before you submit. Applications with missing information may take longer to finalise.
When completing the online application you must avoid copying and pasting bullet points, numbering, accents etc from formatted documents into the free text fields. Only use numbers 0 – 9 and letters A – Z (upper and lower case), dashes '-' and underscores '_'.

Important: The Maritime Crew visa is not valid for air travel to Australia. The Maritime Crew visa permits crew to enter Australia by sea only, for the purpose of allowing them to work on their ship.

||Crew or their partner and dependent children wanting to travel to Australia by air to join their ship must apply for a suitable visa which allows entry by air.
You will need to login to your ImmiAccount. If you do not have an account you will need to create one to access online visa services. You can use your account to:
- continue a saved application
- attach documents
- check progress of your application.
Note: If you submitted your application before 6 December 2013 you will need to import the application into your ImmiAccount. Unfortunately applications that were started (but not submitted) before this date cannot be retrieved.
